Collegiate GK Training
The ID Sports GK Academy is a position specific add-on to our normal camps, built around why goalkeeper recruiting is different. With fewer roster spots and stricter evaluation criteria, keepers need targeted reps in shot-stopping, crosses, positioning, 1v1's, distribution, and footwork that complement the exposure and gameplay you already get at our showcases. The Academy is led by college goalkeeper coaches and provides the instruction needed in order to play at the next level.
Guidance & Feedback
After training, the coaches lead a seminar and Q&A on the recruiting process, specific to goalkeepers. The recruiting process for a goalkeeper is different than the process for a field player, and our experienced staff share guidance on how to be successful. Each player also receives one on one verbal feedback from a college coach reviewing strengths and areas of improvement.
Essential Skills Film
Our skill focused training sessions give college coaches exactly what they need to see in order to evaluate your film. By attending a GK Academy session, you will capture more high quality skill footage than a month worth of games. We worked directly with Division I, II, & III coaches to create a session plan that will deliver them exactly what they need to recruit you. These coach friendly clips will instantly help you standout from the pack.
Increased Exposure
Not only do you get exposure to the college coaches that attend the event, your footage is distributed to our nationwide college coach network on our goalkeeper recruiting platform. The result is more eyes on your game, increased engagement from coaches, and a better chance of finding your way onto a college soccer roster.
What happens at a GK Academy Clinic?

Upon arrival, players meet the staff and review the goals for the day. Keepers are placed in small groups to maximize quality reps and capture as much film as possible. Training covers movement and positioning, footwork, shot stopping, crosses, distribution, 1v1 scenarios, and more. The clinic concludes with a goalkeeper specific recruiting seminar led by our college coaches. Below is a sample itinerary:

1:00 - 1:10: College Coach Introduction and Goal-Setting

1:10 - 1:30: Warm-Up
​
1:30 - 2:15: Shot stopping (close range, medium range, and 1v1)
​
2:15 - 3:00: Crosses and Set Pieces
​
3:00 - 3:30: Distribution and Footwork

3:30 - 4:00: Verbal evaluations & recruiting Q&A

What do Goalkeepers get from attending?

1. Collegiate goalkeeper coaching:
Hands on training led by current college goalkeeper coaches, with clear focus on positioning, angle play, shot stopping, handling, 1v1, crosses, and more.

2. Event footage:
All keepers receive footage from the clinic, packed with skill specific sequences that games rarely capture. We will run drills based on specific feedback we've received from college coaches on what they need to see on film. Footage from the event is also shared with our ENTIRE college coach network on our GK Recruiting Platform.

3. Personalized evaluation:
A verbal, one-on-one evaluation from a college coach on staff outlines strengths and the most important areas to improve. ​​​​
